Within the concentric circles of Trump's regime lies an unseen culture of occultists, power-seekers, and mind-magicians whose influence is on the rise. In this unparalleled account, historian Gary Lachman examines the influence of occult and esoteric philosophy on the unexpected rise of the alt-right.

I'd second that - he does numerous podcast on gnostic type themes - I've just read his books on Blavatsky & P. D. Ouspensky
he had a rough interview with liberal leftie asshole Jason Louvre (he got his own politics to colour the interview)
Lachmann's Dark Star Rising is a very good book, if a bit rushed, and seems to have been on a good dozen or so podcasts since the beginning of summer. I think his Secret History of the Western World is his best that I have read as it gives a little context and understanding behind secret societies and esoteric philosophers, including many that are demonized by conspiracy culture. Excellent choice. And I did listen to the Louv interview. It got a little heated as Louv wears his heart on his sleeve and is very anti-Trump and left-wing. He is also very anti-conspiracy, which anyone who listened to the Skeptiko interview can testify to. Lachmann would be a great guest. Seconds on this. I am sure Greg has contacted him, as he is one of the major players on the scene.

Four misconceptions about pathological narcissism:
a. It is not only regression to an earlier childhood developmental phase
b. It is not merely a psychological defense
c. It is not simply an organizing principle or a schema
d. It is not a personality disorder It is a post-traumatic condition, amenable to trauma therapies.
It is not an adult disorder but an attachment dysfunction coupled with arrested development. Amenable to techniques borrowed from child psychology. It is also not a disorder of the self, but an interpersonal disorder.
