Like Whitley Strieber, Jason Horsely is man that is easy to root for. You really want to like the guy, even if what he write slaps you in the face and tells you that you are doing it wrong, thinking things wrong. Accept the fact you will have a bruised ego when reading Horsely. Jason Horsely is a man that was very deeply in the Strieber, Kripal, Castaneda camp of thinking. He was "all in" at one point, and even wrote some decent books, movie reviews, blog posts, etc indicating as such. But then he started seeing inconsistencies in the works of Strieber, Castaneda, and others he had held in high regard. He was also taken in and perhaps duped by a spiritual guru. His marriage was falling apart. He picked up the pieces and started rethinking everything. The new Jason Horsely is like few other voices out there. He is now a loving, but fierce critic of Strieber and Castaneda, but not for cynical paranoid reasons, like many critics are, but because of the parallels he sees in his own life, which of course led him to question his own reality. I don't want to spoil things for people, but Jung, synchronicities, external and internal psyops, MKULTRA, pedocults, collective indoctrination, soul fragmentation, cultural engineering are worthy of discussion. His rabbit hole is really a tunnel that is intelligently burrowed (and burroughed). I don't always agree with his takes (for instance his takes on socialism, feminism, the occult are extremely negative), but I know a thinker with an eloquent working mind when I hear one. He is pretty emotionless and sounds a bit monotonous (to be frank he sounds like a drugged out Shane McGowan) but his words always remain interesting.

Publisher's Description of his latest book Prisoner of Infinity (which is an excellent soul-searching series of essays):
Taking UFOS and the work of “experiencer” Whitley Strieber as its departure point, Prisoner of Infinity explores how beliefs are created and perceptions are managed in the face of the inexplicably complex forces of our existence. While keeping the question of a non-human and/or paranormal element open, the book maps how all-too-human agendas (such as the CIA's MK Ultra program) have co-opted the ancient psychological process of myth-making, giving rise to dissociative, dumbed-down Hollywood versions of reality. The New Age movement, UFOs, alien abductions, psychism, psychedelic mind expansion, Transhumanism, the Space Program - what if they are all productions devised by committee in dark rooms to serve social, political, and economic goals that are largely devoid of true substance or meaning?
Through an exacting and enlivening process of social, cultural and psychological examination and excavation, Prisoner of Infinity uncovers the most deeply buried treasure of all. The original, uncredited author of all mystery and meaning: the human soul.

This description of Horsley is from the infamous film critic Pauline Kael (of the New Yorker) which I think does an excellent job of describing Horsely (you can replace the words "in the movies" with "in his ideologies"):
This hothead fantasist offers the excitement of a wild, paranoid style. He lives in the movies, explodes them from the inside, and shares his fevered trance with us. But he doesn’t lose his analytic good sense. He’s not just a hothead, he’s a hardhead, too. . . . He’s a marvellous critic. Tackling a new movie, he’ll hang in there until he’s balanced and sound. It’s always a surprise.

I don't recall Horsley being on THC, so apologies if I am wrong about this. He has NOT been on since Prisoner of Infinity, his master work so far.

I would really like to hear him talk about his new book - Vice of Kings - pedo cult in the upper reaches of British society.

I am sure Vice of Kings would/could be covered as well. I have not read it as the subject matter proves less interesting to me. Has anyone read it and able to comment on it? I think Prisoner of Infinity though is like one of those potential game changers in the field. The book quite gently lets us know that the material world, the spirit world, multiple realms are not the only things we should be talking about. It is the fragmentation of the soul that also needs to be part of the discussion on an individual and collective level. This perhaps describes most UFO sightings, most demon sightings, etc. It doesn't negate the reality of these things, but perhaps it is us that are the demons, us that are the aliens, and us that are so roundly shaped by the nameless it begs the question: is every reality a simulation? What comes within and what comes from without? What is internal and what is external? How is a belief system constructed?

The great thing about Jasun is that just as he seems to be flying off the rails, he always finds a way to reign his mess in and turn it into a very coherent and persuasive argument. And he is not the kind of guy who will get angry and name call if a host were to stick up for Castoneda or Strieber (he'd probably help you).
