Robert Guffy - author of “Chameleo”

I’m just finishing up an audiobook that is currently free on Audible with the subscription. I started last night and have been listening nonstop—it’s one of those types of books. I really enjoy the science/technology episodes of the podcast, but this would also be very much in the realm of government conspiracy. I thought Greg might be particularly interested in this story because the most terrifying parts happen in San Diego. It reminds me of another “true story” type book I read a few years ago called Acid Dreams, where they cover the government mind control experiments with LSD done in San Francisco in the 60s on American citizens. Only this is way more scary. It is so terrifying to think of the super advanced technology our government most likely has, when you consider that it seems more and more like the enemy of our government is not radical terrorists, unstable dictators or hostile rouge governments...but we the people. Here is the book synopsis: “A mesmerizing mix of Charles Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson, and Philip K. Dick, Chameleo is a true account of what happened in a seedy Southern California town when an enthusiastic and unrepentant heroin addict named Dion Fuller sheltered a US marine who'd stolen night vision goggles, and perhaps a few top secret files, from a nearby military base.
