So I'm reading the Cabin at the End of the World. Spoiler alert in case anyone wants to read the book. It mentions the end of the world..a pandemic that starts in Wuhan.. Hubai province.. shutting down wet markets. It was so close to what happened (official story at least) that I checked to see when it was published. It was released in 2018.

i suppose OP doesn't realize that SARS COV first emerged in late 2002. Just because you never heard of something doesn't mean it never existed. No one needed to predict anything in 2003 because many people were already concerned about SARS in 2002/2003 when it was spreading in Asia. The main reason it largely disappeared in 2004 is because of public health measures
