My buddy and I are carpooling to Austin for the meetup. He's starting from Detriot, and I'm in Indianapolis, and we'll be heading southwest from there. We have 2 seats in the car, and due to the price of gas, it would be lovely to fill the seats. So if you think you are roughly on the way, let me know, and we'll see if we can work something out.
It will take us 2 days, going down on the 23rd/24th and coming back on the following Monday and Tuesday. I would imagine we are going to want to camp on the way down/back. Probably just pitch a tent in a state park to save on accomodation. Haven't decided on accommodations for Austin but will have to figure that out.
If there end up being 3 of us, I would budget $230 for gas, and if there are 4 of us, I would budget $175. That's estimating $6/gallon, and depending on the actual price of gas and where we pick you up, it might be less, but I wanted to give a ballpark.

I'm happy to see this happening, and if times weren't so tight financially, I would absolutely consider this trip with you. I'm from Bitely, MI. I would also be happy to do a meetup closer to home, if this is a possibility in the future
Hey, I'm near Milwaukee, WI and I just jumped on the forum to see if there was anybody in the area who wanted to take a road trip. I've been wanting to take a road trip for a while and this is the perfect excuse. I could potentially meet up with you guys in Indy and carpool from there. I would definitely consider that. Anyone else in Wisconsin? Chime in.
@tesseraches I was also going to say we should probably have a phone call to see if it's a good fit, and assure myself that you guys aren't a bunch of unhinged maniacs that might kill me. Then I thought, oh shit, I'm the one who named myself the killer!! Lol that name goes back to my online poker days.
