America has had wealthy people building castles and huge palaces for at least thousand years.
The 1600’s were a big castle building time for the Aristocracy here on the plantations.
For example: I live in Oregon, USA in Salem. Our history says we were first settled in 1832. By 1850, we have a huge courthouse and gigantic State House, complete with dome. For a population of 1000!!
There was a previous civilization here in America.
