It's actually a Roman salute and the Nazis (even Hitler) were not what were told. The Romans however were. And Elon Musk has mentioned his obsession with them on several occasions. But, I did enjoy your video thanks for sharing
@confessionsofarider I believe the salute originated in Rome as you stated. After that, it was adopted up by the Italian fascist movement in the 20's (Mussolini era). We had it surface in the United States as part of the pledge of allegiance thanks to Francis Bellamy 'The Bellamy Salute', which I believe was used up until Congress ruled in favor of the hand over the heart during "Pledge recital". This change in the US was influenced by Nazi Germany having adopted the gesture. That is my understanding of the history of this salute anyhow.
I find it fascinating that where the salute goes, fascism goes (it would seem), or did I put the chicken before the egg?
The Fascia is a Roman symbol of a bundle of sticks bound around an axe as can be seen on the dime. It represents strength through unity or conformity. Little wonder it was generated by the Romans and adopted by every fascist movement after. Just because something was Roman, doesn't mean it's not fascist.
@shamangineer I got this hiccup from Greg site I got all excited cuz I thought shema engineer was maybe going to come on the show or post something I so enjoyed listening to all his shows about the elements if anybody remembers that far back now I go on and I see he's calling Elon and Trump fascists and Nazis and somebody else's attacking the salute he made and trying to explain who knows why he did it you can't climb in the guy's head and I have my own opinions about things that he's done or has yet to do but I'm withholding those opinions but I think the frosting on the cake is I read somebody wrote something about how usaid is doing so much good in the world now keep in mind that I've been watching on Congress all these people talk about the one and a half million that went to Syria for sex changes the million dollars here for making a play about people that are gay God knows what and everything and then you got the poor people in North Carolina Lahaina people not far from me here in Ohio and Palestine only really help real help and you're going to defend usaid in the millions multi-millions that they're spending in other countries with programs teach you that it's okay to be gay or God knows what???
You know I had a lot that I wanted to ride on stuff I love to write I have a lot of different interests but every time I come here I find somebody talking stupid and I don't want to have any part of it I really hope shamangineer comes back on the show and finishes his series on the elements I've listened to each of them I know them verbatim now but any talk about fascism because Elon whips his hand up like a Nazi okay I have issues with Elon too but we really need to focus on getting this country together or we're not going to have a country and I just don't find this worthy of his talent and intellect to be honest wish everybody the best I'm out
