Freedom Cells Derrick Broze
After listening to Derrick Broze on THC and John Bush on Grimerica recently, I went to check out the Freedom Cells website. There are a few things that rubbed me the wrong way about the site and are a red flag. One, they are requiring your phone number when you register. Why on earth would they need/want your phone number? They are asking for your address, though it is optional, so this isn't a big deal. They make you agree to at least 70 percent of "The Freedom Cell Survey". You can see the survey here: Freedom Cell Survey . It starts out with a question about "Liberalism destroying America" which presumably misconstrues the term "Liberalism" as the beliefs of the American Democrats and American Left ie Liberals. If you have never looked up the definition of Liberalism, I would suggest you do so. Anyway, though I agree with some of the questions, it is heavily bent towards right wing talking points. It's all a bit confusing to me, bc during the interviews Both Bush and Broze seem like reasonable open-minded people and the solutions they suggest seem to have much more to do with anarchist philosophy, Syndicalism, Libertarianism and libertarian socialism, rather than Nationalism, Patriotism, Zionism, binary politics, or Laissez-faire capitalism which are implicitly promoted in the survey.
Anyway, if you are right wing and want to find others to organize with, thats fine. But I would not give this site your real phone number, your address, or your main email. I highly suggest using Simplelogin.io to generate email aliases. Their site just smells like a honeypot, and that is definitely not the impression I get from their interviews. So if Derrick Broze or John Bush happen to read this, your site is giving off very suspect vibes. They obviously are connected to tech savvy people who know about Open Source Mapping software and non-KYC decentralized messaging protocols like XMPP, so if you know about that sort of thing and its importance, maybe don't require peoples cell number. Maybe use 2FA to verify people who register if you are trying to prevent a bunch of spam bots from joining the site.
Also, if you value privacy, freedom of speech, and decentralization, it is the Free and Open Source Software movement that is making many of the biggest strides in this area: Linux, GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, Open Street Maps, Ublock Origin, SimpleLogin, Bitwarden, Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, Hubzilla, Diaspora, Signal, XMPP, Matrix, Monero and so on. It wasn't laissez faire capitalism that created those technologies; it was largely generous developers working collaboratively to share things that promote freedom. I am not anti-capitalism, and I wish we had a better ways of funding Open Source developers, but I just like to point out that most of the countermeasures for surveillance capitalism and the surveillance police state have emerged from selfless people who want to share rather than from the free hand of the market. Binary political thinking and binary economic philosophy are impediments to a decentralized, multifarious, anti-authoritarian, free future.
I'm in Eastern PA, looking to escape the city within the next year or two and start homesteading. I can do CNC programming, CNC operation, CAD/CAM/3d Modeling, carpentry, woodworking, electrical, plumbing, general construction, gardening, lots of computer stuff, teaching, and I have a little bit of experience with goats and chickens. I'd love to be a home school teacher for some like minded folks and/or be a fabricator for a small community. I would primarily consider mid to Eastern PA, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina. I prefer the mountains and the woods. I need space and privacy, so I am not looking for a commune type of situation, but rather my own housing and adjacent properties to others who'd like to share resources and split workloads for farming, animal husbandry, etc. I'd consider joint ownership of a large woodshop, fabrication shop with the right group.
I can't see a way to edit my post. Anyway, I am an idiot. Freedomcells.com and Freedomcells.org are apparently two very different places. Freedomcells.org is the one associated with Derrick Broze. I am pretty sure Freedomcells.com is a honeypot for right wing extremists.
