Tanning beds
Does anyone think the giant campaign against tanning beds might be a conspiracy? The pattern I notice is that if the WHO and the major health authorities tell us something, we should often do like the total opposite. Tanning feels good. The sun is healthy. Sunscreen is loaded with chemicals. I live far up north where 5 months of the year its so cold to go outside and get the D! Seems like a little tanning bed time would boost my sad immune system and more benefits. Everything on the internet says "nnoooooo!" "Baaaaad!" Yet tanning feels good and people who tan seem healthy to me. Would love to hear what others have on this!
It's possible, I really have no idea but I'd guess they might not be too bad in moderation. I had a math teacher in seventh grade (a helluva long time ago) and she over did the tanning bed. Bless her heart, the woman basically cooked herself.
I'm super curious about this too. I live in Wyoming and spend half my days under a heating blanket. Sure I'm warm but I'm not sure I'm getting the Vitamin D I need. I go hiking for an hour nearly every single morning regardless of the temperature (I have a wild hunting dog with a huge prey drive) but I'm usually totally bundled up. I'd be interested to know of the actual research on tanning beds...
