Hi THC'ers. I've been idly looking at travel guides lately and I was wondering... What would a travel checklist aimed at people like us look like?

Do you guys have any weird, occult, supernatural destinations on your checklist? What are they?

Southern Appalachia for Bigfoot. And UFO sightings.

I always like to go on ghost tors when I visit a city. I'm clairvoyant so find most are bs but they usually are a lot of fun and you get to learn about about a city's history. the only one that threw me for a loop was in Dublin. The tour guide took us to a legit spot and I was like dude wtf why didnt you warn us that THIS one would be a real spot?

I'm currently interested in exploring old sights in my area (Illinois).  Content surrounding the Cahokia burial mounds and similar sites is something that will be explored this coming summer.  I am currently scrolling through Google Earth and topographic maps and seeing if I see any anomalous features to explore that are closer to my home in Northern Illinois.  The dream would be to happen upon a man-made cave or underground entrance of some sort.  That is one of my primary fascinations (I am a geek who likes magnet fishing and metal detecting, etc, the thrill of the chase).

@banaaf I have not been to the mounds yet. I lived in Missouri most of my life, so this spring I need to go. Thx for reminding me.

@leonidas Oh, nice!  My family is initially from Lincoln, Illinois (across the river and a bit east from St. Louis).  I just got done listening through an Analog episode of THC where he was discussing the underground passages that connect the mound sites of Missouri to the Cahokia mounds in Illinois.  I am so fascinated by the buried past, even if I am only standing on dirt above the more interesting part, there is something to be said about being at a location while thinking about the history of it.
