Vitamin D3 (colecalciferol) as rat poison
I was taken back by your youtube short as both a chemist and a long time subscriber, equating Vitamin D3 (colecaliferol) as rat poison. As the saying goes, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. The lethal dose in 50% of rats tested (LD/50) is 37mg per kilo. As the average weight of a human adult is about 70 kg, one might say that 2,690 mg or 2.7 grams could be considered as an approximate LD/50 for human adults. The usual high dose daily supplement capsule for D3 is 5,000 units which would be 12.5 mg. Thus it would require a person to consume 216 high potency vit. D3 capsules to kill a typical human.
Vitamin D3 is the activated form of the vitamin and requires sunlight on the skin for activation. It is considered by many to be the most important of all vitamins to activate the body's immune system against the flu. That is why flu season in the northern hemisphere in the higher latitudes take place in the winter months. If a person is stupid enough to take 216 high potency capsules in one shot, they should win the Darwin award.
What the use of Vitamin D3 in rat poison tells me most interestingly is just how inexpensive it is to make. I would suggest that Carlwood has been sucker punched by the NIH, whose primary job is to sicken and kill us off, and that he pull this stupid video.
