Seriously, this is the new improved?

Where is a tool bar for formatting like bold or italics? Is this really it?

XenForo is one of the best forum platforms available. Hopefully you'll agree over time. Bold and Italics are right on the toolbar above where you type.

Not visible on my computer.

Looks like there's some troubleshooting to do.

I tried to reply to your private message and this is what I get:

Lost what I wrote as my first response to the testing message so I wrote a new one and tried to send it a minute ago. That one failed too. Same result.

No tool bar in the edit window either. Is there supposed to be one?

I went into Preferences and checked the box: "Use the rich text editor to create and edit messages," and nothing changed. I went back and the box had no check, even though is said that the changes had been saved. I have repeated this twice and the same thing has happened both times.

Still no formatting tool bar. Would live to see what it offers. All I get is a rectangular line box to write in.

Back here in edit mode. Went to Preferences and the check mark is gone again.

Tried again to respond to the testing message too.

Looks like we need a geek to sort this out.

I too have these same issues Satya is having. I have windows and set preferences to rich text editing.

Also crashing on occasion.

I'm sure the bugs will get worked out. Looks like a big improvement.

Waaaaaa.... I want a tool bar too. Waaaaaaa....

It doesn't say "Write your reply..." either. Just a blank rectangle.

Misery loves company. Glad to see I'm not the only one (sorry Diogenes).

Still getting this when I try:

This might be because I have gone into preferences and checked rich text editing repeatedly, but THAT PREFERENCE IS DISAPPEARING WHEN I LOG OUT AND LOG BACK IN.

I am using Chrome 55.0.2883.87 m for my browser on a Windows 10 Home Desktop.

EDIT: Actually I don't have to log out/ in for that preference to disappear. And I AM CLICKING THE SAVE CHANGES BUTTON.

Thanks Greg. Hope this doesn't distract you too much from your core task of bringing us great interviews. It could be my account is buggy because for a day when my payment lapsed in early January I had some really weird permissions "magiked" to me by a bug in the system.

I seemed to be able to start a new conversation in Conversations, but cannot reply or edit without the same error message coming up.

Here's what just failed (attempt to reply in a conversation started by TheCarlwood, called: Messaging Test):

Just tried again to respond to your test and failed again with this message:

Well, it looks like I started another conversation with you. Let's see if I can reply now. It hasn't worked so far.

Can't reply, can't edit. It's getting later and later.

Looks like the Church of Latter Day Errors.

Is it just me and you, Diogenes? We, with both of us on different OS and browsers and having of the similar issues.

Is anyone on our case?

I spoke with the programmer. He said if you're not seeing buttons or the toolbar, your issue is with Javascript. You either have it disabled on your computer/browser or you need to update the browser. THose were his suggestions, just passing them along.

I am using the latest version of Chrome 56.0.2924.87
Still no toolbars and many others bugs in the system.

I also get no toolbar in Microsoft Edge browser. And again in both cases my preferences for rich text editing is not saving.

And by the way I am a Python & Django developer and know a fair bit of JavaScript and I think your guy isn't giving it much attention.

But I really do appreciate what will be a much better forum Sir Greg.

If it is just me and Satya having issues then I volunteer to have my account nuked and restarted. I have a suspicion that would fix my problem. There seems to be a key value type error in storing my account's data.
