Hello Friends & Ohana!
My brother stuck a lightning rod in the ground this week:
"This idea has been circling our brains for years as we’ve been roaming, reading, planting and meeting folks with similar, if not identical goals for the future. While taking some time in the Gila Wilderness, NM for reflection and restoration, we came to the natural conclusion that it was time to start our own nonprofit: Food Church.
In short, Food Church believes in free food, living water and clean air.
HOW IT WORKS — Food Church locations will:
- grow edible, useful plants and trees
- protect and enhance living water sources
- Offer free harvest yields, encourage and teach self- and sustainable-harvesting
- Operate entirely on donated labor, property, supplies and funding,
- many locations will have free accommodations/resource sharing for resident stewards
- increase self-sufficiency for the masses
Food Church aims to be a vehicle connecting everyone with a shared vision of healing our planet and increasing food/water security. In the long term, Food Church locations will also grow to include housing, education, and community events.
Food Church is launching with two initial properties in New Mexico and is actively seeking more land (anywhere!), along with donations of supplies, labor, and funding.

Right now they are looking for any critical feedback: wording, design, flaws in plans, missing ideology, etc.... any thoughts, questions, or comments would be GREATLY appreciated. We want this thing to be bullet proof as it is sure to piss some people off.
