Hey fellow Higherside Chatters. I’ve been listening to the podcast for almost two years now. Love, love, love it. I enjoy the wide variety of guests, and as we all know Greg is an amazing interviewer. So anyway, my former neighbor just told me about some recent strange events and I thought about this community as a place I could possibly learn something, anything.

Two weeks ago, Neighbor’s brother died. Brother was middle-aged, diabetic, and a recreational user of meth and cocaine. He was found dead, alone in his house in front of his chair. His death was ruled an overdose and as far as the Sheriff’s office is concerned, the case is closed.

Now for the strange…

-Brother’s body was decomposed more rapidly than normal: A morgue employee (Neighbor not sure of job title) told Neighbor that Brother was in late stage two decomposition (including maggots on the body, Neighbor said). As far as I can tell, Stage Two is 3-10 days after death. Brother had been last seen alive by multiple people within 48 hours of his body being found. The morgue employee expressed disbelief toward Neighbor when told he’d seen Brother 2 days before the discovery. Drugs, diabetes, heat, and humidity (all present in this case) can exacerbate decomposition. Still, while acknowledging this, the employee said this wouldn’t account for Brother’s decomposition. [Due to privacy guidelines, the morgue employee will not talk to Neighbor now that he found out there is closer kin (Brother’s adult children). Brother’s kids are having a rough time coping and are not mentally capable of “investigating “ any of this, at least at this time.]

-Brother was on the sex offender registry

-Neighbor has been told 4 more local stories like this: While sharing this information around our community (of 10-15 thousand in western Washington State), Neighbor has been told of 4 other similar cases occurring in the last year, 2 in this county and 1 in two other counties. They are similar in that there is rapid decomposition, the deceased was on the sex offender registry (or in one case, the father of a deceased was on the registry and the deceased had a different violent criminal record), the case is closed as suicide or overdose, and there is no published information.

So, I am wondering if any of you have heard stories like this and also if anyone can explain the rapid decomposition? We did recently hear about rapid aging in the Richard Lighthouse interview around the 40th minute, referencing John Hutchison and Judy Wood.

I am a skeptic and I’m aware there are many areas in which holes may be poked in this narrative. I’ll be happy with any response, but I’m not really looking for that kind of dialogue. I’m just trying to find possible answers and avenues for my neighbor. Thanks for reading!

It's probably nothing. Living diabetics sometimes have rotting tissue that attracts maggots, so they have a head start.

OTOH, if you want to go full esoteric, attempting to manifest the rotting corpse of your victim is the second stage in a popular death curse spread around by the edgiest black magician around:

2. Prepare for the ritual by centering yourself and focusing your mind on the objective of the ritual, which is the death of your victim. Visualize your life without your victim in it, or you can even visualize them laying dead on the ground. Try not to imagine the funeral, though, as that confuses the emotions. What we’re going for here is a raw, visceral, and disgusting imagining of their rotting carcass.
