Dismayed at the appeal communism still had for many intellectuals and artists in the West, the new agency set up a division, the Propaganda Assets Inventory, which at its peak could influence more than 800 newspapers, magazines and public information organisations. They joked that it was like a Wurlitzer jukebox: when the CIA pushed a button it could hear whatever tune it wanted playing across the world.” Frances Stonor Saunders

"Why, they've got an organization over there in Virginia now that is practically the equal of the Pentagon in many ways. And I think I've told you, one Pentagon is one too many.” "Now, as nearly as I can make out, those fellows in the CIA don't just report on wars and the like, they go out and make their own, and there's nobody to keep track of what they're up to. They spend billions of dollars on stirring up trouble so they'll have something to report on. They've become... it's become a government all of its own and all secret. Hi Hugh, I follow Ray Peat as well. He is so low profile and high depth that most of my online contacts have not heard of him, let alone read his newsletters. Having lived on this earth for so long, he has a lot of great analyses to offer on health and metabolic fitness. I have put a lot of his advice into practice, particularly avoiuding PUFAs. How about you?

Four and a half years now. I doubt I'd be alive without him, and I certainly would not be very functional. I would also be highly authoritarian, as independent and open thought requires a lot of energy. It's been a ride.
I would suggest testing gelatin, carrot salad, blood donation and eggshell calcium. Easy stuff that can make a huge difference.
