Where Metroids come from
holy crap, this is incredible, and looks a lot like mycelium too:eek:
Wonder how this mini-brain develops in the future.
The more I think about this, the more I freak out, in both optimistic, and cautious ways.
The implications for being able to grow a brain has obvious benefits for medical treatment.
But it also is growing a quantum machine (brain), is it not? Powers that are beyond imagination (especially if we follow the adage that we only use a tiny percentage of our brains). I'm imagining mini-brains within smartphones that could compute tasks that Siri wouldn't even dream of. A personalized assistant, grown from your own stem cells (basically, a cloned-assistant).
This mini-brain (or whatever size, it'll eventually be) would probably be come equipped with a pineal gland, right? So all kinds of uses for psychic, ESP/akashic records access?
I also worry about the potential of a lone-brain, without a heart, guts (and other organs that make up a human being). I wonder if it's like having a firearm without a safety-lock (not that it would matter too much, but still).
So many questions, so little. But it's straight-out of a black mirror episode isn't it?
I also did not get the Metroid reference initially, but its quite interesting in and of itself.
A pineal gland is more than neurons and in a particular arrangement. This just sounds like a neuronal bundle with spinal cord and some muscles, which is still creepy as heck.
God only knows what's cooking in their labs, or worse, DARPA's..
But to your point about using such tech to tap into quantum computing / higher dimensional information of some sort, this occurs at the cellular level, so it is theoretically possible.

This also ties into what I suspect is part of the thrust behind the thrust of the transhumanist agenda. I think that the elites are planning on using transhumanist technology to create immortality for themselves, but either wittingly or unwittingly this would make them potential vessels for negative higher dimensional entities. While many of the elite are already subject to such possession on a periodic basis, the aura would be so weak and corrupted by interference from the surrounding circuitry it may result in such entities being capable of nearly complete control.
